Weekend Recap: Dressbarn Event + Blogger Brunch

Doesn’t it suck how quickly the weekend just flies by when you’ve just began getting comfortable?? I can’t believe it’s Monday already and we’re back to another work week. And yes, I said work week because guess what?! Yah girl finally landed a job! *does happy dance* I’ll definitely be doing an entirely different post on that soon, but for now just know that I’m now officially employed and BLESSED!

In other news, I had a crazy week where I spent most nights at church for my Youth Conference. But I also had an amazing weekend filled with all things blogging related. The DRESSBAR event at Dressbarn on Thursday evening hosted by Jeanette was so much fun! I had no idea what to expect, but I’m so glad I took the time out to attend. It was definitely worth the 3.5 hour drive! I absolutely love meeting like minded individuals with such a huge passion for what they do. It was great networking with so many incredible bloggers and making connections.

Of course, meeting Carmen Marc Valvo himself was certainly one of the highlights of the evening. He’s been in the fashion industry for more years than I’ve been alive and has styled some of the most well known celebrities. Check out a few pics taken by my very own personal photographer who also goes by the title “fiancé.” (I promise to pay him back one day, Lol)

I’ve been really trying to network as much as possible with local bloggers. So when I stumbled upon a community of South Florida Bloggers, I was thrilled! It turns out they have events every month and I found them just in time to be able to attend the October event which was a brunch + seminar at Batch Gastropub in Miami.

Once again it was great getting to connect with different bloggers across various platforms. I especially enjoyed the speaker Ryan Stewart who spoke about building relationships and how to increase blog traffic. His three top tips for bloggers are:

  1. Incorporating uniqueness in your blog and making it as different as possible
  2. Building a community {especially through different social media platforms}
  3. Focus on building relationships with fellow bloggers and your readers

Overall, it was a great event and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for November!

As you can see, I had quite an eventful weekend and the $25 card that Batch Miami thoughtfully gave each blogger made it even better! I’ll definitely be going back this week (maybe even twice since I picked up more than one, Lol) But let’s just make that our little secret shall we?

I hope you had a great weekend as well and that you have a blessed and productive week!

Until Next Time…
